The most recent meeting of the Society was on the 2nd August at the Forge Mill Needle Museum. The meeting report can be found on the Meetings page and the next meeting is planned to be on Monday 6th September at Forge Mill Needle Museum at 2.00 p.m.
The web site www.redditchwalks.org.uk is now operational with nine history walks available for download. The society are also preparing a walk around Beoley for the 'Monk or Murderer - who do you think you are' - a local heritage and family history event on October 1, 2 and 3rd organised by St. Leonard's Church, Beoley (www.stleonardsbeoley.org.uk).
The ‘POD at the Palace’, which uses an interactive touch screen, is available for users in the foyer of the Palace Theatre. Much of the information on the history of Redditch was supplied by the society and more is being added. It is planned to also make the information available on a new web site.
Members of the Society, who are volunteers at Forge Mill Needle Museum are providing guided tours of the museum on Fridays, at 11.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.
We do not carry general web links related to Redditch history on this site, as these exist elsewhere.

The Redditch Local History Society is a group based at the
Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre
Redditch is fundamentally a town created during the Industrial Revolution -
although it has some aspects of its history, including Bordesley Abbey, which is much earlier.
The aim of the Redditch Local History Society is to document and communicate on the remaining visible history of Redditch.
This will be achieved by exhibitions, talks, maps, walks and audio/visual records.
